Collaboration with Services for Independent Living

Services for Independent Living (SIL) and Eclipse HomeCare are now working together collaboratively because we believe that we can achieve more together for disabled and older people and family carers across Herefordshire and Worcestershire and so more effectively fulfil our respective vision and purpose.

SIL and Eclipse HomeCare have been establishing teams to work out of each others offices in Herefordshire and Worcestershire and so jointly offer a wider range of services.

SIL primarily specialise in offering services to younger adults with learning or physical disability whereas Eclipse HomeCare primarily specialise in offering services to older adults.

Specific Objectives

To enhance provision of home support services to older and disabled people across Herefordshire and Worcestershire by:

• Using respective experience and expertise to develop our understanding of, and practice in relation to, the needs of older and disabled people and family carers.
• Working together informally through sharing skills / knowledge / expertise, joint /shared training, reducing costs, sharing resources.
• Making cross referrals where we recognise the disabled / older person will be better served by the other organisation.
• Benefiting from the presence, knowledge and reputation of the partner organisation to establish our services in each county (Worcestershire & Herefordshire).
